Road Testing

Before you can take your Class 5 GDL road test, you must first pass your class 7 learners test and have a valid class 7 learner’s licence.

Fine Payments

Alberta Registry Agents are no longer able to process your fine payment online. The good news is that you can still visit us in person at your local registry office.

Birth / Marriage / Death Certificates

Please order your official certificate through the Olds Registries, after a period of 3-4 weeks after the event the official certificate from Vital Statistics will be available to order.

Marriage Licence

Your happy event is fast approaching , to help things go smoothly make an appoinment at the Olds Registries to get your marriage licence.

Raffle Licences

The vehicle that you must provide to perform your road test must also be in adequate condition, with certain equipment that is mandatory for your road test.

Service Updates for COVID-19 Pandemic

 

Office Hours

Our current office hours (subject to change) are 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM Monday to Friday, Closed Saturday and Sunday. Please respect all social distancing recommendations while in the office.

 

Driver Road Testing

Effective March 20, Alberta commercial and passenger road tests have been suspended for at least 4 weeks. Road tests will resume when it is safe to do so.

  • Albertans who have a road test scheduled will be able to rebook online as of April 17, 2020 for a test on April 20, 2020 or later, at no additional charge

 

Vehicle Registration

Vehicle registrations expire on an assigned month based on the registrant’s surname or a company name.

  • Albertans and companies with registrations expiring in March and April (including those whose last names begin with B, D, G, Y) will now have until May 15, 2020 to renew their vehicle registrations.

 

Driver's licences and ID cards

Driver’s licences and ID cards expire on the holder’s birthday in the year noted on the card.

  • Albertans who have birthdays from March 17 through May 14 and whose cards expire this year, now have until May 15, 2020 to renew.
  • Expiry dates can be found on your card and Albertans with birthdays from March 17 through May 14 are encouraged to confirm whether or not they need to renew this year.
